When some suggested to the great writer Abbas Mahmoud Al-Akkad that he write a book about his life, he replied that he would write this book under the title “About Me”, which deals with two parts: the first is his personal life, including its qualities, characteristics, upbringing, education, principles, belief and faith, and the other part deals with his literary, political and social life connected to those around him and the events that he went through and lived in. He passed away before completing this work, so the first part of it, “I”, included Al-Akkad the human being, as his psychological and personal life is too great to be collected in a book, as it reviews the father, mother, town, childhood memories, teachers, his launch into the intellectual, literary and cultural field, his faith and philosophy, moving to the period of maturity after forty, fifty, sixty and seventy, and between his books and in his office he finishes this valuable work.
