The novel Arwanus is a creative work by the French novelist Marcel Aimé, published in 1948. It is the third of three political narrative works, starting with the novel Travel in the year (1941), and continuing with the novel The Path of the Disciples in the year (1946).
This novel did not receive the attention of researchers and observers upon its publication, due to its complex nature, intertwined issues, and overlapping construction. However, it quickly attracted the attention of literary scholars and other theorists and creators, and so it was that the French film director and producer Claude Berry turned it into a movie in 1990.
The uniqueness of this work lies in the elegance of style, the genius of the presentation, the diversity of issues, and the contrast of visions. It ranges between seriousness and sarcasm at times. It narrates events and conflicts that took place after World War II in a small town called “Belimon.” This village was subjected to severe bombing during the time of liberation, and the residents of Belimon suffered the scourge of the Nazi occupation for four years, and the consequences of this were great human and material losses.
